The Greater Monterey County IRWM Plan now contains 44 proposed implementation projects and 37 concept proposals.
- Implementation Projects: Implementation projects address a multiple of water resource needs in the region, including water supply, water quality, flood management, and environmental resources. Implementation project proposals submitted by stakeholders for inclusion in the IRWM Plan are carefully reviewed by the Regional Water Management Group to ensure that they meet minimum IRWM Plan standards, and are then ranked. The result is a ranked Project List from which the Regional Water Management Group will choose when selecting projects for IRWM grant funds. - Concept Proposals: Concept proposals are ideas submitted by stakeholders for projects that are not quite far enough along in their development to be submitted for grant funding. It is the intention that concept proposals will eventually grow into “full-fledged” implementation projects. Concept proposals are not eligible for IRWM grant funds, but are fully reviewed by the Regional Water Management Group to ensure that they meet minimum IRWM Plan standards.
